An Elliptical Filament
For years, Gateway has talked about the many advantages of working with an elliptical profile of plastic filament. The elliptical profile of filament – versus a round profile – results in much higher yields per pound of formed coil. If a 25 lb. (11 kg) spool of PLASTIKOIL® elliptical filament produces 1744 pieces of 10 mm coil (12" x 4:1 pitch) and a 25 lb. (11 kg) spool round filament only yields 1300 pieces of that same size coil – the savings are obvious. Manufacture coil with PLASTIKOIL® Lite and yields per round are even greater. The elliptical profile has also been proven to work better with automated coil insertion equipment. That's the information you need to know.
